Intro
Q1 is over, and we had the opportunity to recognize some of the most successful bums of 2023 with the BowTiedBum Awards.
We’ve officially entered Q2, and I believe this will be the busiest quarter yet.
This Q2 plan will be a flexible plan, similar to last quarter. It’ll include a Q&A and you’ll be able determine which cards are best for you and your situation.
Here’s some of the member success stories.
Chase PYB Note
If you’re flush with Chase points and plan on using Chase PYB (check out the guide here) to cash some of them out to pay rent, invest in crypto, etc…
Make note of the new change effective April 1st:
According to Doctor of Credit, Chase has removed groceries as a PYB category, and now includes Whole Sale Clubs (such as Costco).
Gas Stations are still included at the elevated 1.25X rate as well.
Flexible Roadmap
Since we’ve had some bums who have been here for a full year now, this roadmap will offer some flexibility depending on what stage of the game you are in.
Since this plan will be a bit flexible, please read this whole post all the way down to the very bottom before applying to any cards!
We’ll have a Q&A in the comments for 72 hours after each quarterly plan is dropped. After that, you’ll be able to ask further questions (as always) in the Slack Group.
If you’re going to ask a question about what card you should get, please use the specific format below:
Example:
Slack Name: PointsGuy24
5/24 Status: 3/24
Current Cards: 2 CICs, 2 CIUs, Amex Biz Plat, Amex Schwab Plat,
Recent apps: Amex Schwab Plat 9/1/23
Preferred Airport: Atlanta
Preferred Travel (US domestic/international): Domestic/ Caribbean
Goals (premium flights, economy flights, hotels, cashback): Economy flights and hotels
