Looking to get the chase ink business cash but they’re only offering a 75k point bonus. How often does it go up to 90k? Worth waiting for or go with another card like business preferred which is doing a 100k point bonus at the moment?
Hello! I just discovered this Substack and I am looking forward to learning the system!
You mentioned you prefer to stay away from cards tied to specific entities (e.g. airlines) but I notice that you listed the Chase United Explorer card as one of the cards you currently have. As a regular United flyer, can I ask you why you chose to carry this card?
Good day Mr. Bum. QQ - I'm looking at the Chase cards and Chase Preferred looks pretty awesome, but it's the 4th one on your list and isn't one of the cards you're holding.
Am I missing something, or is this a good one to start with?
Chase doesn't allow you to have both at the same time. I prefer the Reserve because I MS a lot so the 1.5X PayYourSelfBack or Travel Portal works well for me. It's really a personal preference depending on your goals. If the high annual fee of the CSR scares you, the CSP is a fine choice.
Got my first Chase Ink. Only got 3k limit and used it all for business. Does it make more sense to pay early (and finish my $6000 spend for sign up points) or use the next card. I think you wrote something about not paying a citi card off early...
I would do $3K first month $3k second (slightly over is just fine). Note that what I was talking about Citi cards is different. Cycling is when you max your credit card limit multiples times per month. For example you spend $3K, pay it all off, spend another $3K, pay it off, and spend $3K more to spend $9K total in a month when your limit is $3K.
If you're slightly over on Chase especially for business cards it shouldn't matter at all. Citi is just very anti cycling. Never exceed your credit limit w Citi.
I usually focus on cards with transferable points rather than locking myself into one airline (Southwest), but if you’re in a southwest hub and have a family or SO it definitely can make sense to get it.
Disregard please, I found the answer to my question in another post’s article section. Thank you!.
glad to hear!

Hey. The goal is to first build a strong base of cards that you will profit off of each year.
Chase Biz cards (particularly CIC) are best to get initially while you are still under 5/24.
If you live in a United hub, travel frequently, and want a free checked bag, feel free to get that United card later (while still under 5/24)
But with high earning cards like CIC, you’ll earn more points which you can just transfer to Hyatt or United.
I have the Chase Sapphire Preferred. Is it possible to get the sign up bonus with the Sapphire Reserve? If so, what's the best way?
Not unless you got the CSP bonus over 24 months ago. If so, you can product change the CSP to a freedom flex and then apply for the CSR
Nice. I got the CSP in 2019. Sounds like downgrading and re-applying is the move.
I recently signed up, so still digging through the substack. Do you definitely recommend the CSR over Amex Plat?
You under 5/24? If so stick to biz cards for now. Also, definitely join the Slack if you haven't yet. DM me on Twitter for access.
5/24 rule explained here:

Why dont you talk about getting the companion pass with chase cards?
