Driving Member Growth Forward: Guide to Member Success in Summer 2024 (and Beyond)
(And a Recording of Cheeseman's Honeymoon plans + Live Q&A)
Intro
As we head into Summer, I wanted to take some time to discuss what this time period will look like for the community…
Discuss ways that I am trying to drive growth and success for every member…
And discuss what success looks like in Q3 2024 and beyond…
Live Q&A and Honeymoon Planning with Cheeseman on X/Twitter Spaces
Another great call with one of the most successful members in the BowTiedBum community.
You can listen to the recording from last night here.
If you missed the Space from a couple weeks ago, Cheeseman is on pace to earn $45K this year alone from credit card churning and BowTiedBum methods. He’s flush with Chase points and looking to plan his honeymoon.
The biggest takeaway from last night’s call?
He wasn’t fully aware of the crazy value he could get by transferring his Chase points to Hyatt!
Let’s look at some of his honeymoon options below:
Potential Destinations
A few notes before we discuss potential destinations.
Between Cheeseman and his fiance, he has 720,000 Chase points!
This allows him to have a budget of 50K Hyatt points per night for 2 weeks with some left over…Additionally he plans on earning a lot more before his trip.
They are non-drinkers (excellent life choice), and so my immediate thought was, “DO NOT DO AN ALL-INCLUSIVE.”
I strongly recommended not doing an all-inclusive as he could get much better redemptions at a regular resort, and the food will be significantly better both at the hotel and at local restaurants.
That’s not to say all-inclusive’s don’t have their place. They absolutely do and I’m a big fan. In his specific situation, I feel it didn’t make sense.
One additional note…While the options below are all Hyatt, we also discussed the possibility of using the Chase portal for redemptions on the call. This post covers how to calculate the math to see which option makes sense.
Park Hyatt Maldives
Go big or go home!
Obviously a long flight, but 25K Hyatt points is an absolute steal. The cash value of this room was $727 per night, so he could stay at this resort for 2 weeks for free and have points left over.
This would be one of my top picks and the chance to go to a once in a lifetime destination entirely free is something I wouldn’t pass up on personally.
Park Hyatt St Kitt’s
A bit closer to the US, this features a room steps from the beach at 25K as well. The cash price for this room was $671, so this is also a fantastic redemption and a great option if the couple wanted an easier flight.
Andaz Costa Rica
As I mentioned on the call, Costa Rica was one of my favorite Caribbean experience and would make an excellent choice if the couple wanted to do some excursions and leave the hotel more.
Again, at 25K points per night, this is a fantastic redemption as the cash price is $671.
Andaz Maui Wailea
Since Cheeseman is flush with Chase points (thanks to following the Bowtied Bum Methods)…
He could easily do a Hawaiian honeymoon in which the couple goes to Maui and Kauai, for one week each, and he would have points leftover for flights!
The Andaz Maui Wailea is an awesome luxurious option.
A bit pricier at 40K Hyatt points per night ($688 cash price).
I went on a very similar trip a few years ago, and happy to write a detailed post planning this out, if this is what he chooses to do.
Grand Hyatt Kauai
34K Hyatt points per night and includes free breakfast and hors d'oeuvres…
Cash price was $737 so terrific value as well here, although it was harder to find available dates.
This would complete the second leg of his Hawaiian honeymoon if he chooses to go on this path…
Also, he can use a small number of Amex points and transfer them to Hawaiian Airlines to book flight between each of the islands.
Andaz Mayakoba Riviera Maya
I know he said he didn’t want to do Mexico, but this resort might make him change his mind.
I’ve never gone personally, but I’ve heard fantastic things. Cash prices were much lower, so the redemption value wouldn’t be as strong here, but still an option.
Hyatt Aruba Regency and Spa
Great hotel in Aruba!
This used to be 25K Hyatt points per night, but availability is tougher now and it’s elevated at 30K points per night.
The reason I wanted to mention this one is
-the restaurants in the area are amazing
-it’s not on a hurricane path as it’s protected by land, so you don’t have to worry about hurricanes
Driving Member Success in Summer 2024 and Beyond
Here’s what the next few weeks, months, and beyond will look like.
-I’ll be dropping a “Life After Chase” post next week (things got a bit shuffled around) which will discuss what happens when we reach max capacity with our Chase Ink Cash’s.
-We’ll be having biweekly paid member Q&A calls to ensure everyone is on pace to earn $2,500 a quarter, $10K+ a year, etc). The biggest takeaway from the past two calls is, even if you don’t have any questions - you can still learn just by listening (either live or recording)
-Even Cheeseman didn’t understand how valuable Hyatt points could be, so he learned something new on the call last night.
Q3 2024 Plan + Live Q&A
The Q3 2024 plan will drop either July 1st or slightly before. A couple days later, I’ll host a live Q&A for paid members so that each member will be able to digest the content, and ask me questions about what works best for them and their specific scenario.
The goal is to have these calls to ensure everyone is crystal clear about their individual path to success in this game and can to continue to grow.
As always, I’ll stay on the calls until EVERY SINGLE question is answered.
One of the best decisions I’ve ever made for this community is implementing step-by-step quarterly plans for members. Members have had lots of success simply by following the step-by-step plan.
Conclusion
I’ll be traveling in Europe (for free) from July 4th to July 13th. I’ll be taking some time to relax and recharge, so I’d really like to help as many people as possible on the next Q&A call and set up members for success in Q3. Please join the call if you can!
My biggest goal is to ensure member success for EVERY member that plays this game. I think the live Q&A’s will help drive that success.
If anyone else has any other ideas on helping the community achieve their goals, please DM me as I’m constantly trying to improve the community in any way possible.
Let’s take this Summer to level up our game, enjoy (free) trips with our family, and continue to crush it.
