A step-by-step Black Friday follow along guide to hitting two credit card sign up bonuses

I applied for two business cards on October 30th: the Chase Hyatt Personal card and the Chase Hyatt Business card.  I was approved for both as I was finally below 5/24.  Here’s exactly how I’m going to spend $20,000 before December 31st to hit the signup bonuses.  I have until the end of January to hit it, I just want to get it out of the way.  I need to spend $5,000 on the Business card for 60,000 Hyatt points and $3,000 on the personal card for 30,000 Hyatt points plus another $12,000 for an additional 30,000 Hyatt points ($15,000 cumulative spend on the personal card).  Once I hit $15,000 spend on the personal Hyatt card, Hyatt will also issue me a bonus free night.

Usually, I would just hit the business card minimum spend, and $3,000 on the personal card for 30,000 points and call it a day, and move on to another card’s signup bonus.  Spending an additional $12,000 to get 2X Hyatt points isn’t all that amazing, but for the sake of this post, earning the bonus free night, and giving an example, I am going for it.
